Australia, Canada in first for World Cross Country

Team Australia and Canada will be the first teams to arrive for the IAAF World Cross Country Championships Kampala 2017 event that is set for March 26 at Kololo stadium.

Australia and Canada are among the 66 nations that have confirmed participation for the IAAF World event and will be arriving at least a week early for the preparations.

Australia has confirmed that they will be in the country on March 20, about a week to the event while Canada will be in two days after.

According to the Local Organising Committee secretary Beatrice Ayikoru, countries have started sharing their arrival details ahead of the world event for easy planning and rooming purposes.

“Those countries that have longer flights always arrive early so that they recover ahead of the event. We are ready for the event and all parties are doing everything possible to ensure that the event is a success. We are here to offer people the best experience of Uganda,” she explained.

Other countries have confirmed competing in the event but are yet to send in their arrive details.

Among  other national that have confirmed to  travel for the event include USA, Great Britain, Netherlands, Brazil, South Africa, Kenya, Eritrea, Iraq, China, Japan among others.
